Burundi Hotel Worker Salvation 2024
There was a Muslim woman working at the hotel where we stayed during our series of crusades in Burundi. One evening, after returning from the crusade, she asked if I would pray for her. I agreed, as she appeared very depressed. She then asked if we could wait until the following morning to pray.
The next morning, she found me and led me downstairs to a quiet area. There, I saw her Muslim son, a young man in his early 20s. She asked if I would pray for him, explaining that he had a drinking problem.
As I looked at him, I sensed the Lord speaking to me and said, "I feel that you have a wound in your heart, and that is what is driving you to drink so much." He looked at me and said, "Yes, there is a girl who left me."
I told him, "I will pray for you, but you need to understand that only Jesus can fill the hole in your heart." I shared the gospel with him and invited him to give his life to Christ. He responded, "Yes, I am ready." I then led him in a prayer of salvation.
Afterward, I turned to his mother, who had been listening to everything, and said, "You heard what I said to your son." She replied, "Yes." I continued, "The same opportunity is available to you."
She said, "I am ready." So I led her in a prayer to give her life to Jesus as well.
Two months later, I stayed at that same hotel for a night before heading to Congo. When the woman saw me, she ran up to me and gave me a big hug, her face beaming with the biggest smile. I asked how she was doing, and she replied, "Good."
Then I asked, "Are you attending church?" She responded, "Yes, every week."
I asked about her son, and she said, "He's doing well. He’s in church every week now and has completely stopped drinking."
Praise God!
