During our recent missions trip to Congo, our team had the incredible opportunity to minister to local rebels, including their leader.  Despite the risks involved, we boldly spoke to them about the harm they were causing in the community through violence, rape, and hostage-taking.  We also shared how we have been ministering to victims of their crimes and the devastating impact it has had on the community, particularly the women and malnourished children left behind as a result of the rapes.

To our surprise, the rebel leader responded positively to the message.  He expressed how encouraged he was by our ministry time and expressed a desire for us to return soon.  This unexpected response gives us hope that these rebels will make a positive impact on the entire community.  About a week later, the lead pastor in Bushinga told us that since that our time there, the rebels have completely changed.  He said the sexual assaults have stopped and many of the rebels are no longer abusing alcohol. May God get ALL the glory!
